who is arguably most well known for his role in Trainspotting (Danny Boyle 1996) which is set in Glasgow. He was ranked 36 in Empire magazines ‘top movie stars of all time’.
*Sean Connery played James Bond in 7 of the early bond films and has had a successful career.
* James Mcavoy is an young Scottish actor who has starred in The last king of Scotland and Atonement. He also featured in the TV show Shameless.
* Robbie Coltrane who plays Hagrid in Harry Potter was voted the ‘most famous Scot’.
Bill Forsyth who directed the BAFTA award winning ‘Gregory’s girl’ helped gain Scotland’s film industry recognition. As despite its low budget it managed to gain success throughout the world which is similar to English films.
